Dan Gasaway was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in August 2012. He is a 20 year resident of Banks County. He and his wife Shannon, a public school teacher, have been married for 26 years. They are members of the Presbyterian Church, and Dan is an ordained elder.

Dan was raised in Habersham County and is a 1984 graduate of Habersham Central. He received a Bachelors of Science in Architecture in 1988 from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and worked in the architecture field upon graduation.

Dan managed Ridgway's Inc., a large commercial printing and graphics company until 1997. In 1998, the Gasaways moved to their property in Banks County and built a commercial poultry operation, while Dan continued his architectural design and construction business. For the past 20 years, Dan has been self-employed.

Dan served on the Citizens Foster Care Review Panel for Banks County Juvenile Court for 10 years, prior to being elected to the Georgia House of Representatives. Dan is an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoys working in his vegetable garden, playing the mandolin, and reading.

In the Georgia House of Representatives, Dan serves in a leadership capacity on the Natural Resources and Environment Committee, Human Relations and Aging Committee, Intergovernmental Coordination Committee. In addition, he is an active member of the Insurance Committee and the Higher Education Committee.
